CAUSE Partners with First Sign Technologies
The Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E. is celebrating 10 years as a non-profit this Spring. 10 years of sharing Sue’s story, 10 years of advocating for consumer safety legislation, 10 years of arming consumers with practical safety tips, and 10 years of community involvement. The organization has grown from just its small founding board members to partnerships with truly influential companies that have the potential to impact our safety in great ways. In that same spirit, C.A.U.S.E. is thrilled to announce a partnership with First Sign Technologies. While C.A.U.S.E.’s mission is proactive in nature, this partnership will prove to offer the vulnerable a tangible security solution should any life threatening or unsafe situation arise. C.A.U.S.E. does its best to prevent these situations, while First Sign has the resources and products to react to them.
To kick off this partnership, First Sign Technologies will help bring awareness to the mission of Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E. by providing the first-ever wearable that automatically fights crime and collects evidence. Partnerships with other organizations, such as First Sign, extend the C.A.U.S.E. outreach and enable the nonprofit to promote Consumer Safety.
Rachel Emanuele, Co-Founder of First Sign Technologies, said, “We are excited to be able to provide a product to the members of this much needed nonprofit to give peace of mind and extra protection to those that need it, while collecting evidence in order to prosecute these attackers that otherwise go unpunished.”
As part of this partnership, First Sign, which has a deep pipeline of products for their wearable security platform, will sell these products through Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E. and donate a percentage of the revenue earned on these devices to the nonprofit. First Sign will feature Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E. under the “Partners” section of their website to further spread awareness of the organization.
The First Sign Smart Clip is a smart wearable device worn in the hair or clipped on clothing that works with a mobile App to automatically call for help and to collect evidence at the first sign of trauma in an emergency situation. This mobile security device is the only solution of its kind that has the capability to identify, deter, apprehend, and prosecute attackers.
The First Sign Smart Clip’s alarm is activated when a violent attack is detected by the hair clip’s embedded accelerometer and gyroscope. It then uses a Bluetooth paired cell phone to collect more evidence and call for help while the phone’s speaker lets the attacker know that “evidence has been collected and help is on the way.”
C.A.U.S.E. Certification, the online database created to enable consumers to find safe workers, is C.A.U.S.E.’s proactive solution. Being aware of who is coming into your home, knowing which background screens have been conducted on them and when, and knowing exactly who to expect for service work are all crucial aspects to proactively ensuring safety. These steps could and should prevent unsafe situations in the home or with the vulnerable populations. However, there are many other circumstances that all consumers face daily that could prove to be dangerous or unavoidable. This Smart Clip gives consumers peace of mind and provides unmatchable protection to its wearers.
Features of the First Sign Smart Clip include:
- Automatic Alarm: Working with the user’s smartphone, the First Sign Smart Clip triggers an alarm that alerts professional security personnel at the first sign of violent movement using its gyroscope and accelerometer.
- Evidence Collection: Evidence is immediately collected once the alarm is activated. A microphone on the hair clip transmits audio evidence while it connects via Bluetooth to the user’s phone to access its camera, GPS, speaker, and cell signal. The evidence is streamed to the professional security monitoring station so all evidence will remain available to prosecutors even if the phone is destroyed.
- Lifestyle Friendly: The hair clip can be worn discretely concealed under the hair, as a fashion accessory, or clipped on the body somewhere close. Either way, the clip is “out of sight and out of mind” but it will never stop working for you. There is a 15-second window to deactivate it in the rare case of a false alarm.
