The Sue Weaver C.A.U.S.E., a 501 (c)(3) non-profit, was founded in 2004 in order to promote Consumer Awareness of Unsafe Service Employment. After the founder’s sister, Sue Weaver, was brutally raped and murdered by an in-home service worker with a criminal record, the need for proper annual background checks became painfully apparent.
Like many others, this employee had slipped through the cracks, but C.A.U.S.E. created a program designed to better protect you and your family. C.A.U.S.E. Certification follows best practice guidelines and offers a means of hiring safer workers. You can learn more here. Our goal is for C.A.U.S.E. Certification to become the “Good Housekeeping Seal” for Service Providers. You can help!
It is our hope that everyone who hears about C.A.U.S.E. will think twice before letting a service provider into their home. At the very least, take a look at some basic safety suggestions.
Proper annual background checks required on all workers sent to peoples’ homes.
